There’s something so comforting about a thick slice of banana bread with your morning coffee, especially when it tastes like the one from Starbucks.

A loaf of banana bread topped with chopped walnuts sits in a baking pan. Text overlay reads, "Easy Coffee Shop Banana Bread, made with 5 ripe bananas.

This copycat Starbucks banana bread is soft, moist, and full of sweet banana flavor, with a little crunch from chopped walnuts. It’s the kind of easy loaf cake you can bake on the weekend, slice up for breakfast, or tuck into lunchboxes for a sweet homemade treat.

And the best part? You don’t need to make a coffee run. This cozy banana bread comes together right in your own kitchen with simple pantry ingredients.

Why You’ll Love this Copycat Starbucks Banana Bread

This copycat Starbucks banana bread is one of those simple bakes that feels special without being fussy.

It’s moist and tender, packed with banana flavor, and topped with walnuts for that coffee shop-style finish. It’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, an afternoon snack, or anytime you want something sweet with a cup of coffee or tea.

It also freezes beautifully, so you can make a loaf now and save a few slices for another day.

Why I love this recipe…

I’m one of those people who always has a few overripe bananas tucked away in the freezer. I just can’t throw them out when they get too soft, because they’re perfect for baking.

And while I love a slice of Starbucks banana bread with coffee, buying a special coffee or tea and a slice of banana nut bread can add up pretty quickly.

So I decided to make my own copycat version at home — extra moist, full of banana flavor, and made with 5 large bananas instead of 3. It’s cozy, budget-friendly, and the flavour is amazing when slightly warmed with a little butter.

How to Make the Best Copycat Starbucks Banana Bread

This Starbucks Banana Bread Recipe is a quick bread or a no yeast bread and just like muffins, requires a light hand when mixing.  In fact, you really don’t mix at all – more like folding the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients.

Over mixing might give you a nice smooth batter, but I can guarantee your Banana Bread will be dry and tough.  And that would be just so disappointing!  So the lesson here is to treat your batter lovingly and gently mix it together.

The secret to a really good banana bread is that it's moist and delicious .  This copycat recipe from Starbucks does the trick and I mixed it up a bit by adding an extra banana, so that means 4 large bananas instead of 3, as well as including some chocolate chunks.
