Cream the sugars with melted butter, then add in vanilla and egg. In a separate bowl, blend the flour, baking soda and salt and add it to the wet mixture.
Add the chocolate chips, we want chocolate chips in every mouthful of cookie. Now for the magic ... cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator.
Using a cookie scoop, drop cookie dough onto a prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes.
Don’t overbake, we want soft and chewy cookies! Cool on wire racks, and store in an airtight container, if they last that long.
